Applications
BLX® 1300 provides excellent performance as both an antioxidant and as a light stabilizer in both thermoplastic and thermoset polyurethanes. It is recommended for use in both aliphatic and aromatic urethane systems. BLX® 1300 is also suitable for use in adhesives, sealants, and coatings. This blend is particularly effective in preventing degradation in polyurethane products like shoe soles, instrument panels, door panels, steering wheels, window encapsulations, headrests, and armrests.
Advantages
- Provides excellent heat and light stability in polyurethanes
- Easily added to both aromatic and aliphatic polyurethane systems
- Suitable for natural and pigmented materials
- Ideal for preparing light stable color pastes
- No sedimentation in the polyol phase, even at low temperatures
- Resistant to exudation and crystallization in many PUR systems
- Excellent compatibility with polyurethanes, adhesives, sealants, and coatings
Guidelines for Use
Suggested use of BLX® 1300 ranges between 0.2% and 1.5%, depending on the substrate and performance requirements of the final application. For reactive two-component integral foams, the use level is 0.6% to 1.5%, while for adhesives, it is 0.5% to 1.0%. In sealants, the concentration should be between 0.2% and 0.5%. BLX® 1300 can be used alone or in combination with other additives to achieve desired performance characteristics in various polyurethane systems. Please contact your Mayzo representative for specific recommendations for your application.
