Applications
BNX® 169 is a non-discoloring antioxidant ideal for a variety of thermoplastics and adhesives, showing outstanding performance in polyamides and tire cords. It is commonly used in polyurethane (PU), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) resins, as well as in styrene and polyurethane resins. Useful in polymers with unsaturated bonds. Its effectiveness extends to polyamides, nylons, and thermoplastic formulations, enhancing their stability and longevity against oxidative degradation.
Advantages
- Improves stability during high temperature processing and long term heat aging
- High thermal stability
- Non-staining and non-discoloring
- FDA clearances available
- Ideal for polymer with unsaturated bonds
Guidelines for Use
Suggested use levels range from 0.05% to 1.0% in plastics and adhesives. Combinations of BNX® 169 with secondary antioxidants such as phosphites and thioethers often show synergistic performance. BNX® 169 is also suitable for use in combination with light stabilizers, including hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS), UV absorbers, and benzoates. The exact formulation to be used is dependent on the substrate, performance requirements, and other factors, and should be determined by the user based on testing to simulate actual conditions of use. Please contact your Mayzo representative for specific recommendations for your application.
