Applications
BNX® 2246 is is a highly effective antioxidant and process stabilizer in hot-melt adhesives, natural rubber adhesives, ABS, polyolefins (polypropylene, polyethylene, EVA), polyacetals, and elastomers. It is also used as an oxidation inhibitor for fats, oils and paraffin wax.
Advantages
- Improves stability during high temperature processing and long term heat aging
- Synergistic performance with secondary antioxidants (phosphites, thioethers)
- Non-interacting with processing or vulcanization in cross-linked elastomers
- Compatible with a wide variety of systems
- Low migration effects
- FDA compliant
Guidelines for Use
Suggested use levels in plastics and adhesives range from 0.05 to 0.5%. Combinations of BNX® 2246 with other antioxidants such as phosphites and thioethers often show synergistic performance. BNX® 2246 is also suitable for use in combination with light stabilizers, including hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS), UV absorbers, and benzoates. The exact formulation to be used is dependent on the substrate, performance requirements, and other factors, and should be determined by the user based on testing to simulate actual conditions of use. Please contact your Mayzo representative for specific recommendations for your application.
