Overview

BNX® 1000 is a unique liquid antioxidant system that is highly effective in the protection of adhesives (including new generation of hot melt and water-based adhesive systems), rubber, resins, and other polymer systems against thermal oxidative degradation.

Chemistry

Typical Properties

Product Form:                           Liquid

Applications

BNX® 1000 is ideal for use in adhesives, rubber, resins, and other polymer systems. Compared to solid antioxidants, BNX® 1000 provides easier blending and disperses completely, virtually eliminating the particle dispersion problems sometimes associated with conventional antioxidants in powder form. Extensive testing has proven BNX® 1000 to be especially effective in the new generation of hot melt and water base adhesive systems, providing increased heat and extended oxidation resistance.

Advantages

  • Highly compatible with a wide range of organic substrates
  • Liquid physical form provides for slow and consistent antioxidant release
  • Liquid polymer base ensures broad and effective dispersion in solvent and water-based
    systems
  • Disperses completely thus reducing loading requirements
  • Eliminates particle dispersion problems
  • Non-staining and non-discoloring
  • Excellent resistance to extraction
  • Odorless and tasteless
  • Improves long-term stability
  • Contains an inhibitor for the catalytic oxidation incurred by metals
  • FDA cleared for use in adhesives

Guidelines for Use

Suggested use levels range from about 1% to 5% by weight, depending upon the substrate, processing conditions, end use, and other performance requirements. BNX® 1000 may be used in combination with other additives, including ultraviolet absorbers and hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS). The exact formulation to be used is dependent on the substrate, performance requirements, and other factors, and should be determined by the user based on testing to simulate actual conditions of use. Please contact your Mayzo representative for specific recommendations for your application.

Storage

This product may be stored up to one year in a sealed container. Containers should be kept tightly closed and stored in a cool, dry place. Keep containers sealed when not in use.
