Applications
BLS® 1880PP is a highly effective light stabilizer in polypropylene and TPO thick-section parts and in polypropylene film, tape and injection molding applications. The ideal application for the product is in PP and TPO exterior and interior products (Roofing membranes, automotive, outdoor furniture).
Advantages
- Outstanding light stability in polypropylene and TPO applications
- Highly effective even when used at low concentrations
- Good color stability and gloss retention inn comparison with other HALS
- Synergistic performance with other light stabilizers (UV absorbers, benzoates)
- Non-interacting with fatty amides used as anti-scratch additives in automotive TPO
- Non-discoloring
- Excellent compatibility and solubility with polyolefins
- Pellet product form for ease of handling and dosing
Guidelines for Use
Suggested use levels range from 0.1% to 3%, depending on the substrate, processing conditions, and performance requirements. Combinations of BLS® 1880PP with other light stabilizers, such as high molecular weight HALS (BLS 1944 or BLS 119), UV absorbers, and benzoates (BLS 2908), often show synergistic performance. The exact formulation to be used is dependent on the substrate, performance requirements, and other factors, and should be determined by the user based on testing to simulate actual conditions of use. Please contact your Mayzo representative for specific recommendations for your application.
