Applications
BNX® 3114 is a highly effective antioxidant and process stabilizer in polyolefins (PE, PP, olefin copolymers and blends, TPO). Its excellent resistance to gas fading discoloration makes it ideal for use in fiber, film, and tape applications. BNX® 3114 also provides superior performance in filled polyolefin compounds due to its low interaction characteristics. It is also suitable for use in many other applications, including hot melt adhesives, elastomers, tackifier resins, styrenic polymers (ABS, ASA), polyurethanes, and engineering plastics.
Advantages
- Provides protection during high temperature processing and long term heat aging
- Synergistic performance with secondary antioxidants (phosphites, thioethers)
- Highly resistant to water extraction
- Inherently resistant to discoloration from gas fading
- Low interaction with fillers for superior performance in filled polyolefins
- Extensive FDA clearances
Guidelines for Use
Suggested use levels range from 0.02% to 0.5% in polyolefins. Combinations of BNX® 3114 with other antioxidants such as phosphites and thioethers often show synergistic performance. BNX® 3114 is also suitable for use in combination with light stabilizers, including hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS), UV absorbers, and benzoates. The exact formulation to be used is dependent on the substrate, performance requirements, and other factors, and should be determined by the user based on testing to simulate actual conditions of use. Please contact your Mayzo representative for specific recommendations for your application.
